  • ModNation Racers Beta Hands On
    by Robert
    Posted January 26th, 2010 at 7:10 pm
One thing that seems to have exploded on the videogame front this generation is user created content. At the forefront of this boom is the acclaimed LittleBigPlanet, the cutesy platformer with the most adorable little character and addicting levels. With LBP having seen releases on PS3 and PSP, Sony were sure they were onto a winner. And so they decided they’d warrant a LBP type racer, known as ModNation Racers. This was announced at E3, all the way back in June, where not only did we he...
  • Psychonauts For $2
    Joe Russell by Joe Russell
    Posted January 26th, 2010 at 3:15 pm
This is simply too good an offer to pass up - Double Fine, the development studio headed up by Tim Schafer, is offering up its first game on Steam for the measly sum of $2/£1. The game is critically acclaimed, and still one of the best examples of working humour in video games. The official Steam news post is below: For years, the Psychonauts have deployed their psychically-armed operatives all over the world, but this time trouble is brewing in their own backyard. Someone is abducting student...
  • Saturday: Nine Lives Final: Portable Gaming – Can It Work?
    by Tim Rinehart
    Posted January 25th, 2010 at 11:32 pm
This is the final week. I understand you busy gamers are just so busy that you’re busyifying this article. I assume busyifying means something like shortening or making words up to mean something. I can’t be 100% on that. You get on a plane, train, or an automobile that you’re hopefully not operating. Reading a book just doesn’t feel right, listening to music isn’t stimulating enough, and you’re not tired enough to sleep right now. What to do? Whip out your portable gaming console...
  • Sony Investigating PS3 Hack
    by Robert
    Posted January 25th, 2010 at 6:23 pm
George Hotz, the iPhone hacker who was the first person to jailbreak an iPhone has announced that he as hacked the PS3. He has been posting on his blog, publishing this progress for the past five weeks, until a post appeared called "Hi Hypervisor, I'm Geohot" who goes on to explain how he has hacked into the PS3. When launched, the PS3 was said to be unbreakable but if this is true, Sony must be shaking in their boots at the thought of unlimited piracy that may ensue this exploit. IncGamers g...
  • Luigi’s Mansion 2 in the Works?
    by Ricardo Trejo

I don't know why there was such animosity toward Luigi in his haunted mansion outing, but to me it was an experience that I will cherish forever. Yeah, I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true. I still remember being the first in line after waiting hours and hours at a local retailer to pick my new Nintendo Gamecube at the strike of midnight. The game of choice was none other than Luigi's Mansion, which I didn't even get to play until the next afternoon since once I got home my best friend had t...
  • PS3 Controller first “Wand”, then “Gem”, now Being Called the Arc?
    by Ricardo Trejo
    Posted January 19th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
Last year's E3 was filled from top to bottom with motion controls. It was a bit understandable that after the Wii's continuous and ongoing success its competitors would want to get in on it too. Microsoft stunned the crowd with its camera based Project Natal, and Sony... well, they used both technologies: a camera and a controller. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say it really didn't wow anyone. From then on Sony's unnamed apparatus became known as the Wand. After that it then became know...
  • Half-Life 2: Episode 3? Not in 2010!
    by Tim Rinehart
    Posted January 19th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
It's news that makes even the strongest of Valve fanboys cry. After the release of Left 4 Dead 2, many believed that Valve would then shift their focus to the Half-Life 2 side of things, and finish this story off. But, it appears not. If this month's Game Informer was correct, then we won't be seeing any more adventures of Gordon Freeman this year. Even after the press of deaf characters and exploding kittens, it may not be coming this year. Hopefully this isn't true, if not, Valve better hav...
  • Saturday: Nine Lives 3 – To Log On or Not to Log On?
    by Tim Rinehart
    Posted January 17th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
Each week in January, I (Tim) will cover a topic that is close to the working gamers’ heart. Yes, some of us are busy with work, school, and other non-game endeavors, heck, even social encounters! But gaming is who we are deep inside still, and I’m here to console, advise, and to help keep you abreast of gaming nerdery. This week, I ask the ultimate question: online play or single play? There's a very large line of demarcation between today's gamers: online gamers and those who are most a...
  • Heavy Rain Exposed – ESRB Describe Sexual Scenes
    Joe Russell by Joe Russell
    Posted January 17th, 2010 at 5:44 pm
This post will be fairly spoiler based, so if you care about when and to what extent you get to see more pink pixels than usual in the game, look away now. As the majority of people know, Heavy Rain is the interesting-looking upcoming PS3 game developed by Indigo Prophesy/Fareinhei Fahrenheit developer Quantic Dream, who describe it as "a very dark film noir thriller with mature themes". Given the quote below, they seem to have delivered on the "mature themes", anyway. The game contains sexua...
  • Modern Warfare 2 Passes the 1 Billion Dollar Mark
    by Robert
    Posted January 16th, 2010 at 11:35 pm
Activision have proudly (and pompously) announced that their blockuster FPS Modern Warfare 2, which is by far the most anticipated game in years, if not ever, has broken the 1 billion dollar mark. That accumulates to $1,000,000,000 – did you see how many zeros that is? Bobby Kotick made this statement about this groundbreaking piece of news: “Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 has exceeded our expectations and shattered theatrical box office and video game records. There are only a handful of...
