Edit 2 -- 8:11PM -- Kotaku attempted to contact Robert Bowling for an “official” statement on the streak. Bowling states: “Can’t confirm nor deny any leaks for #MW2. Official stance is to just wait and discover the awesome yourself on November 10th.”
Edit -- 7:58PM -- Looks like the Youtube video has been taken down. Check out the comments section for another link.
Killstreak rewards were a fun and interesting way to keep the player alive and shooting for something other than bragging rights with your friends, they became deadly weapons in the hands of people who knew what they were doing with them. Modern Warfare 2 is expanding on this idea by boosting the amount of killstreak rewards that are in the game, moving all the way up to 25 kills. Here’s a list of the rewards:
Yes, that’s right folks. Nukes. Check out the video below courtesy of Justin.tv for some multiplayer action.

@Blore07: I’m thinking that the nuke ends the game, but whoever has more points is going to win. If by some bizarre miracle you get a 25 kill streak and the rest of your team is completely useless, and you drop the nuke while you are losing, I am betting you would lose.
The chances of that happening are pretty damn slim though.

@cyruss: They’re just a nice reward for getting a lengthy killstreak.
The only thing that was pretty dumb in COD4 was that kills from killstreak rewards applied to your killstreak count, and dying did not reset your count…so if you got 7 kills you could hold your heli till you died, use it on respawn and most likely get a few or many kills and be back in the 5-7 killstreak zone again, even if you didn’t do so hot yourself. Rinse, repeat, D: I don’t believe this is possible in World at War, but that doesn’t mean IW removed it as well. #spoileralert

@AnonUserAnonymous: i dont know, i personally hated them…. loved COD4 but in the end it was one of the main reasons I stopped playing, that and random grenade kills
i like games of skill not arcade-like AI controlled helicopters and airstrikes.. maybe its because i come from a counter-strike background and only played on hardcore mode servers… i just want to go around shooting people, the killstreak awards were too easy to get (well not this nuke one)… i just hope servers have the option to disable them #spoileralert

@wtf_G: I didn’t really think about the 3-streak limit. However, it’s not necessarily an issue of getting to 7+ kills, it’s just a matter of what will be best for your team. If they keep getting killed because the other team always knows where they are and your team has no idea, UAV and counter wouldn’t be terrible.
We’ll see how things go in a week! #spoileralert

@cyruss: I would have agree with you on the random grenades issue – except that I realize that random grenades aren’t random at all.
Whenever there is UAV, many people look to the radar to know where you are to fling a grenade.
My solution? Play hardcore modes with Dead Silence, UAV Jammer, and Silencers on everything. #spoileralert

@cyruss: Hey, that’s not spamming. I think that’s just predicting movement trends. They know that people just run like crazy at the start of the map so they use that to their advantage. That sort of thing wouldn’t happen if it didn’t work.
What can you do? Switch up your trends and play patiently. #spoileralert

"what i’m saying is that each kill streak reward kills enough people to constantly reward you with a new kill streak." No. Only in games where the skill balance of the players is way off. And really, if the skill balance is off, the losing team is not going to have fun no matter what. There’s no perks in Halo, but if you get people that are on another level than you, you will just sit there as it becomes "fifteen minutes of blindness, huge explosions, hiding, and not having fun".

@wtf_G: Red dot sights are not electronic. They are physical dots on the lens of the scope (hence no red dots swirling around levels as people pointed their lasers everywhere or seen when night vision is engaged).
Unless, of course, they added IR sights to this game. The ones in the original multiplayer were not IR, though, and would therefore not be effected by an EMP-like device (there were IR sights in the campaign, however).

@cyruss: Very understandable. Perks and things aren’t going to gel well with everyone as I know it could get annoying; especially when you’re on a team where no one is even trying to take down a heli, letting it just rake in multiple kills, Lol. Where bonuses able to be disabled on the PC version of CoD4? #spoileralert

Although I’m not getting MW2 on release date (probably getting for xmas instead since there’s other games I want more), I still find this interesting to read…
I find it kind of strange in a way that almost every kill after the third has a reward (some more than one, so I guess you either get both or you get to pick?). So I would be under the assumption that since the logical idea behind a killstreak reward is to make it easier to extend said killstreak, that each reward will make it that much easier to get that 1 extra kill to get the very next reward. Sounds at first read like it would make getting a high killstreak easier, but I’m guessing there’s more to it. #spoileralert

And really, without those options, the only modifications developers can make are with graphics and storyline. Do a comparison from wolfenstien 3d to doom, to quake to mw2. Take away all the options and the only differences are graphics and storyline.

just to clear some things up , the leek was for 360… idk if the pc has a full leak (only a demo i think). also its neer impossible to get 25 kills in a row unless your just dominating the other team (you alone) so this nuke thing really doesnt make the game unfair or unbalanced. also with the maps as big as they are its hard to really camp one area because you wont see alot of action. just in case anyone was wondering you DONT get all of those rewards for kills , YOU CAN ONLY PICK 3. so if someone picked the nuke for there 3rd then it just sucks to be them because i dout they are gonna have a 25 streak often enough. the game is fun and i know alot of people are going to complain about an overload of attachments and perks and abilitys , but the game is pretty balanced. my only complaint is sometimes when theirs a handful of good players on one team the ability’s they get together often times make it impossible for the apposing team to come back up. example: one team gets a bomber and a harrier going at once and then you have chain guns and explosions going off all around you and unless your in a house your probably f’d.
