After seeing that the original Assassin’s Creed was not going to have any sort of demo, it was easy to see that fans were going to be disappointed. With the lack of demo came predictably smaller sales than what UbiSoft could have had despite the great game in itself. It’s always hard to make yourself buy a game you’ve never played.
According to Connected Consoles, it seems that UbiSoft is pulling the same stunt once again.
“Whilst playing a level of the game at today’s Eurogamer Expo, a Ubisoft representative told Connected Consoles that the game will not be getting a demo. This time however, this could be a safer decision for Ubi to choose as Assassins Creed II has been highly improved in most areas. “
I don’t know if I would call it a “safer” decision. Why NOT put out a demo? I could understand if it wasn’t finished; but from the hype that the public demos they’ve had at game expos, I don’t see how unfinished it could really be. Whatever the reason, it’s still a little disappointing to see it happening again. If you REALLY want to play it before you buy it, you’re just going to have to watch out for gaming expos around your area and maybe you’ll get lucky.
Well, if one thing’s for certain, it’s already been proven to be a worthy sequel to the original. Who knows, it will most likely be better with the features that are said to have been improved. Demo or not, it’s still going to “wow” fans of the original, and probably bring in a new wave of fans with it.

A fair few of my friends are buying DB: Raging Blast because of the demo. And if that game is gettin’ some buys, ACII would have got tonnes if it brang out its demo.
Maybe they are hoping that the overall happiness that came from ACI will give them some sales.
