The free-to-play relaunch of Quake III Arena ‘Quake Live’ has gotten into the holiday spirit with a small update, giving players the option to play as the jolly man himself or his helper Vixen, along with a bit of decorating in the levels themselves:

Ho, ho, ho! The holidays are upon us, and Santa has brought each of you a special present! For two weeks enjoy “Silent Night”, a holiday-themed remake of the popular arena “Distant Screams” from Team Arena. During this time Santa himself along with his festive helper Vixen, will be playable character models across all game types.

To play Quake Live all you need to do is sign up on their website, and before you know it you can be gunning down Santa like you always dreamed of. In the meantime, you can head to their preview page to read more about the Christmas update.
