    BioWare has announced the first full DLC expansion for Dragon Age: Origins. The DLC will bring players back to Ostagar, site of the original massive battle that starts off the main storyline. Without giving out any spoilers, the basic gist of the DLC is that the player learns of a survivor from the battle that requires the help of the Grey Wardens.     Activision has decided to give your 360 a nice holiday gift by offering up Map Packs 1-3, which includes 3 zombie maps and 9 multiplayer maps, in one big bundle for a slight discount. The pack costs 2000 MS points, or $24.99 in real money, which is $5 off if you had purchased all of the packs separately. The pack is available now in the PSN Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace....

    On Monday, Valve announced that Left 4 Dead 2's first add-on is in development and set to be released in early 2010. Titled "The Passing," it has been announced to include - in addition to a new co-op campaign - new maps for Survival, Versus and Scavenge mode, and introduce a new co-operative challenge mode of play.   • Trials HD DLC dated and detailed

    For those of you who can't get enough of the Trials HD goodness, the oft-hinted "Big Pack" DLC has finally been given some real details.  The pack will include 5 new tournaments, 35 new maps, and 50 new objects for the course editor and will drop on XBL on December 24th for about $10.   • Brutal Legend DLC Dated

    Today EA announced that the "first DLC" for Brutal Legend will be dropping on November 3rd for Xbox 360 and November 5th for PS3. The DLC includes two maps, "Circle of Tears" and "Death's Fjord", and will set you back $5 on the 360. If your a PS3 owner, your actually in luck. The DLC will be free for the first 2 weeks, but it's not all bad for 360 owners. Both consoles will get a free in-game axe known as the "Blade of Ormagöden"....
  • Fable 3 To Have In-Game “Shop” For Microtransactions

    In a perfect example of DLC either adding value or undermining a game, Peter Molyneux revealed a microtransaction system for the attendees at the BAFTA Lecture in London. He said that the game will include a "shop" for these types of transactions where players could buy specials items, such as weapons, for a fee of around $1.70. The store will also sell access to DLC area such as Knothole Island from Fable 2 for a more substantial fee....
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC Announced

    According to a blog post over at Marvel.com, the DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 will include simulation missions and former PS2 and Wii exclusive character Psylocke.   • DLC Adding Value or Undermining It?

    There are two different ways people are looking at DLC for single player experiences.  Adding more to a game they already love or paying for content that should have been included with the release of the game.  Even if it is DLC that does add more to a game you love is it worth it?  Today the appearance of paid launch day DLC seems more and more common.  To me that means two things happened.  One they took away time from polishing the game to come up with the DLC and two they are charging y...
  • Two years of content planned for Dragon Age: Origins

    Bioware recently spilled the beans on it's upcoming and very anticipated game Dragon Age: Origins, saying they have two years of DLC already planned for the game. Mark Darrah, Executive Producer, said the content will be "item packs" and "larger quests that might last an hour or two, up to even fully fledged expansion packs." No word on pricing but the good news is that the content should hit all the platforms....
