Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, a highly anticipated and long awaited game by Playstation 3 fans. Anyone who has seen gameplay of this game, or it’s predecessor Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, can understand why everyone was so excited for it’s release. With an action packed campaign, online cooperative mode, a fully featured multiplayer list of games, and gorgeous graphics to go with it all, Uncharted 2 is most certainly one of the highest quality releases for the Playstation 3. Something it desperately needed.

With it’s release not even a week ago, Uncharted 2 has sold 440,000 copies so far in North America. That’s the third largest week one for a Playstation 3 game in America as of now. That’s pretty impressive; but what’s even more impressive is that with the release, Playstation 3 sales have even gone up. They’ve gone up by around 25%. That’s just an insane amount in only five days.

I think Sony could most certainly learn from this. Put out high quality, un-rushed games with beautiful graphics and excellent gameplay; and sell huge amounts of consoles that could even drown on the Xbox 360. So far the Playstation 3 has simply been lacking in large name titles like this, and they most certainly could use many more exclusives. Most anyone that plays a game on the Playstation 3 could be equally satisfied by a game on an Xbox 360; and that doesn’t equal good sales.

What do you guys think here at Gampex, though? Do you think Uncharted 2 is deserving of all this hype? Or do you think it’s just an abysmal hope for PS3 fans across the nation? Drop a comment and tell us what you think. Or email me your opinion if you’re shy!
